pete12- That sounds like a pretty cool idea. I do think that would help the fans follow a little better. I do also think that no matter what Chad runs, he is still going to have that "target" on him as he will be the one that everyone will be trying to beat next year.

Pete12- i like the gold number idea it should be like it is in the GP not run the red plate for the reigning champ but for the points leader it makes it easy to follow then and everyone knows who they have to beat to be the points leader....

I think the day you win a Title is the day its part of history. I love the Red Plate idea, as with most international Bike racing a Rider becomes the number they Carry like Stoner 27, Rossi 46 and so on. If Chad runs 1 go for it. Personally id like to see a change in the plate colors, GOLD for defending Champ and like world mx Red for Points leader at the time of an event, that way onlookers can follow the progress of the current champs gold plate in the field and the points leaders Red plate if Chad happened to lead the points as champ Red Plate Gold Numbers :)

i hope chad carrys 22 on the bike next year with the red back grounds not only would it lok sick but it would be great to see 22 stand out in the pack not that he is goin to be in the pack .

i think he should stick with 22 plates & have like a little #1 with a thor head off to the side or something. his plate should have a blue background instead of red! lol if & hopefully if he stays with yamaha... should have some #1s on his jersey, yea that would make for some awesome gear for us to buy!

I think he should lord knows the man earned it!!! But its his call there... and being Aussie.. he's always going to be a target persay he's the outsider in many ppls eyes! Go Aussie Go!!!!

I do agree with all three of you about the "target" thing. There are a few options... basic #1 plate, #22 with red background and some #1 patches on jersey(would make for some cool gear for the fans to buy), or just his normal number. He did not NEED the #1 plate to win it this year and he is intimadating enough to not NEED it for next year. Maybe he should do whatever he feels like on the day of the race, and just surprise everyone with what he will be running. Change it from week to week.
He has said he will not be with L&M next year. His new team may want to reenforce that they have the #1 guy.
